Lava Girl Surf is a women focused surf program designed to empower and inspire women’s surf lives through education, community building and creativity.

In October, 2012 they launched the first NY Women’s Surf Workshop – a day of surf education, inspiration & community building.

After the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy, they directed our focus & resources to the Rockaway community. Lava Girl Surf created & managed the first Hurricane Sandy relief site in Rockaway, NY. Hosted at the Rockaway Beach Surf Club, they continue to address the immediate needs of our community & people. They are currently helping residents rebuild their homes & lives.
